Natural Ice is YET another Anheuser-Busch Beverage. But in this case, there is enough popularity around this product for them to have a microsite dedicated to it. From that site you can sign up for email and FREE CRAP! Ecplore and submit Natty-isms. Such Natty jargon includes: Natattat: The sound of three Nattys opening at once. Natidermist: One who loves his natty ice so much he has it stuffed and mounted. I might add Nattarded: The state of having drunk so much Natty ice that you blab on for an hour about it making it a royal pain in the ass to edit a sub 10 minute video about it.

According to Wikipedia: “The 5.9 % alcohol content and low price lends this beer to high consumption on college campuses.” We can all corroborate that fact.

For some reason Natty Ice got largely unfavorable reviews on BeerPal.com. Those people probably just need to train their palates and learn to pair this fine beverage properly with aromatic power tools and fine cut tobacco.

It also comes in special Natural Ice Lip Balm form.

Aparently the fine conna-sewers over @ Beer Advocate Forums didn’t like it either!

I think the take home message here, like fine wine, cheese and monday night football, is that if consumed alone, on it’s own merits, Natty Ice is unremarkable, lackluster and potentially yucky. BUT when combined with the catalytic effects of chainsaws, chew and the bro-mantic atmosphere of a bigass manGarage, Natty Ice can go head to head with anything in a can!

In case you haven’t had Sparks, it is one that must be tried. It is technically a malt “beverage”, but doesn’t taste anything like most malts. I guess it is a malt like Smirnoff Ice, but it is certainly not a “girlie” drink like these. For one thing, it is an alcoholic energy drink. Who can beat that combo! A diet, or “Sparks Light” version, with a bright blue top, is also produced. A higher alcohol version (7.0%) called “Sparks Plus” is available in both 16oz and 10oz cans and has a black top. -energysip.com

Special guest this episode was MichelleReno, our friend and neighbor. Great to have you on the episode! Also we got another call in from Roscoe from Sparks, NV. Great to hear from you Roscoe. Roscoe shared an experience he had with Steel Reserve that left him a little overwhelmed. Those things happen. Lord knows how those Sparkies love their malt liquor.

On the whole we didn’t like this Tallcan. From the tangy sweet before taste to the wonky not-right after taste and the hole it ate in my driveway when I poured a little out, I’s say I might not become a frequent 211 Steel Reserve customer. But you never know. It was pretty popular @ the Sparks Fourth of July party, and stranger things have grown on me. (most of the time a steroid creme or a topical antibiotic takes care of them…)

All in all a great episode. Though Jerz had to bring up can size again. I think we’ll let our viewers decide. What is a tallcan? Jerz insists that a tall can is 24 oz and that 16 oz is a “pounder.” His opinion is based mostly on definitions from UrbanDictionary.com. This might be his favorite one.
